Pixies Reveal ‘Doolittle 25′ Reissue Featuring Unreleased Demos

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark 1989 LP Doolittle , the reunited Pixies embarked on a long tour where they played their second album in its entirety along with all its original B-sides. Doolittle ‘s 25th birthday has rolled around, and to mark the occasion this time, the semi-reunited band will release Doolittle 25 , a three-disc collection that boasts the Gil Norton-produced album and its B-sides plus unreleased demos and Peel Session recordings from the era. Doolittle 25 arrives December 1st, but preorders of the reissue are available now at the Pixies’ online shop. Kim Shattuck Opens Up About Pixies Firing The third disc of Pixies 25 will especially be of interest to fans: Featuring 22 demo recordings – many of them never released – the tracks are sequenced in the same manner as the original Doolittle , creating a rough sketch version of the 1989 album. The disc features the first attempts at tracks like “Wave of Mutilation” and “Hey” as well as an early demo of “Here Comes Your Man” dating back to 1986, two years before the band dropped their debut Surfer Rosa .
